I have owned this bike for a very long time and do not want to sell it, but i need to sell it do to unemployment. It comes from my personal museum, i have owned and sold dozens of lightweight harley's but always held onto this bike because i knew it was very rare and special. This bike was raced numerous times in the hare and hound and vegas to barstow and other desert races. It beat out the more advanced and popular japanese dirt bikes and held the number one plate for one season. That plate goes with this bike. This bike does have a title! This is serial number 572 out of 1500 total bikes made by harley in 1970. There is a common collecting theory that states any car or motorcycle still in driving condition 40 years or older means it is a survivor and generally only 25% of those vehicles are still in existence. That means there are possibly only about 375 bajas still in running condition. The first year is the most desirable because it had more options, (stinger pipe, different lever mounts, rock guards, kick stand, speedo, light package) and they made fewer of them, and it's a first year model. This bike comes with the factory stinger pipe, the factory pipe with the spark arrestor built in, the rock guard, factory kick stand, i've never seen another baja with a kickstand!!! New parts on the bike are new throttle, front brake, rear brake and clutch cables, both lever mounts, both levers, lever hardware nuts and bolts, air cleaner, air cleaner cover, air filter, harley davidson correct # 7 spark plug, correct green fuel line, fenders, wheels, brake, shifter and kick start rubber, hand grips, all hardware for fenders, shocks, seat and mounts on the bike. The bike has both correct metzler tires 3:00 x21 and 3:50x 18 on the bike. It comes with an owners manual, parts manual, sales brochure and 2 sales advertisements on the baja. The bike also comes with a spare baja engine, it is not in the pictures it is at my other place but does come with the bike and will need some assembly to make it work again. The bike comes with a title, the title matches the frame and the engine. The other engine has blank cases from harley-there is no vin stamped anywhere on that baja engine. The bike is museum quality. The paint on the tank was done using harley factory decals and painted by one of harley davidsons top painters, it did not come cheap! There are zero flaws on the tank. There are no issues with this bike. I have not put gas in the tank after it was painted, the carb is spotless clean of gas as well, but trust me it runs and runs good. It has been rebuilt. I will assist with shipping.
